Dr. Walser Dental in contact with representatives of the United Nations

12/11/2021

The Managing Director of Dr. Walser initiated contacts with representatives of the United Nations, who organized a delegation trip on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy by the German-American Chamber of Commerce in New York.

It is about a virtual delegation trip for representatives of the United Nations and representatives of the German medical and health industry, in which Dr. Walser Dental also participates.

After intensive exchange over weeks, a seminar on UN procurement and a round table with the UN representatives and representatives of the German companies, to which Dr. Walser Dental was also invited, took place as an introduction.

For its activities, the United Nations purchases goods and services worldwide, with medical equipment accounting for a large share of procurements.

The UN representatives showed particular interest for the high quality of products manufactured in Germany as well as the important aspect of sustainability of the purchased products. The worldwide known reusable Walser® dental matrices are therefore of special interest, because they are, among the many other advantages, still handmade in highest quality here in Germany, are made of sustainable stainless steel and furthermore sterilizable and reusable.

In 2020, the total value of United Nations procurements was USD 22.3 billion, with medical equipment alone accounting for USD 740 million. According to the experts, the potential of German companies is far from exhausted in this regard: In 2020, Germany ranked 15th in the list of countries with a share of total procurements of USD 392 million.

Dr. Walser Dental is now looking forward to further personal and direct communication with the UN representatives and would like to thank the organizers of the German-American Chamber of Commerce, on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), for this interesting event.
